BE BRAVE BOLD & BRILLIANT
Some would say I've been spoilt, others would be kinder and say I'm just lucky. The truth is I've grown up travelling since I before I can honestly remember (the Canada flag for example, I've seen photos of myself rolling around in the snow, but I can't remember any of it). My parents have both travelled extensively, and continued exploring with us in toe. I would say that they passed on this passion to my sister and myself, but I don't think that goes far enough. They have done more than simply pass on a love of travelling, my mother in particular, has inspired me to go out and see the world for myself. Be young, be free, be spontaneous, be careful, be bee.
So here goes...
I was 9 the first time I travelled without either of my parents. 2004 a week spent in Norfolk Island with my grandmother. The next time i was 15. 2010 four months spent in Italy with my Nonna, living in the tiny little town of Gandino where my fathers side of the family originates. At 16 I went on World Challege, navigating through Vietnam & Cambodia with a bunch of girls from school. and now its time...finally! for the next solo adventure. the one I have wanted to embark on for as long as I can remember. It might surprise a lot of people to hear that I'm not scared of going, I'm not scared of being alone in a foreign country, I'm not scared of missing home...I'm the one having the adventure, I'm the hole that will be missing from their lives, the empty bedroom down the hallway. Although in the case of my parents; I think they are going to turn my room into a gym or an office, or if my sister has her way "knock down the wall so her room is twice the size"...good luck Chlo. I'm ready. I just hate the leaving part.
I'll cry as I leave and I'll cry as I come home, because there's nothing quite like coming home...it just depends which home I'm going to.
